Stand Against Fuel Poverty – Join the Protest at the Labour Party Conference, Liverpool – 1 October 2025

NPC Northern is calling on all members, affiliates, and supporters to stand together against fuel poverty and the devastating cost-of-living crisis facing millions of older people, low-income families, and vulnerable communities.

On Tuesday 1 October 2025, campaigners from across the country will gather outside the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool to demand urgent government action on skyrocketing energy bills, unfair energy market practices, and the lack of affordable, sustainable heating for every home.

This important protest, organised by Fuel Poverty Action in partnership with allies from trade unions, community organisations, and pensioner groups, aims to send a clear message:

No one should be forced to choose between heating and eating.

NPC Northern knows the impact of fuel poverty on older people in our region – cold homes can lead to severe health problems, social isolation, and even premature death. With winter approaching and energy prices remaining high, immediate change is essential.

Why you should join:

  • Demand a fair energy system that puts people before profit.
  • Show solidarity with pensioners and vulnerable households.
  • Add your voice to the call for strong government policies on affordable energy, home insulation, and renewable investment.
